Christmas Break
I flew home to Nebraska with my husband on Saturday, Dec. 20, to celebrate the holiday with our children, our siblings, and my parents. We were in Omaha, Lincoln, and Columbus, NE over the seven day visit. Of course Santa Claus was good to everyone and we got to visit friends and family that we haven’t seen for a while. The only thing that was negative was the cold weather. The day we arrived it was a frigid minus 2 degrees. We did enjoy one day when it warmed up to 50 and all the ice and snow on the streets melted. What a crazy place! You never know what to expect.
I’m back in Las Vegas now and working on home improvement projects. Actually my house had a disaster with a plumbing project that is now a mess. Oh well, nothing can be easy.
I was able to read a book while I was in Nebraska. I read Wicked, the story of the witches of the land of Oz. I saw the musical production on Broadway last July. The book is the basis of the musical, but I have to say there was quit a difference between the book and the musical. I liked the musical much better.
Happy new to all of you web surfers! I’m looking forward to learning in 2009.

I read Wicked when it first came out years ago–and I actually have enjoyed all of his books. Wicked was on stage for a few years before I’d even heard about it. I was surprised that book was made into a Broadway musical. It just doesn’t seem to fit!
Have a great new year!

Kris, you read a lot. I wonder if Elphaba had an afterlife and if she was happy there. She certainly had a challenging life. That book makes me wonder how the author thinks of his ideas. Have you read The Wizard of Oz? Deb
